Ornella Friggit- Konaté enables Zwarte vrouwen voor Technologie to start with scholarships
Amsterdam, April 14, 2025
Press release – Zwarte vrouwen voor Technologie (ZVVT) proudly celebrates its collaboration with Ornella Friggit-Konaté, who has been supporting the organization for almost 1 year now. With Ornella’s monthly financial support, our long-cherished dream has come true to start financing the training of several IT talents. Due to the fact that the (young) women in our IT career program must finance their education themselves, this leads to delays and dropouts for a number of these talents towards an IT education, an IT job or further growth within IT. Reasons such as lack of support from institutions, agencies or their employer. Sometimes they work below their income level and earn too little. We wanted to tackle this.
With the financial support of Ornella Friggit-Konaté, 3 young women started their training as Web Developers this year. In addition, ZVVT makes an effort to let these 3 talents gain the necessary work experience on a project basis, after which they can continue their career path towards an employer or entrepreneurship.
We are immensely grateful for the support of Ornella Friggit-Konaté. The collaboration has made it possible for ZVVT to realize the mission in which we develop promising talents and give Black women access to the IT sector. The impact that we realize with this type of collaboration seems small but is undeniable.
