DESCRIPTION:Workshop Building Inclusive Machine Learning (ML) Systems\nIn this workshop we will explore the factors that influence inclusivity and fairness in ML systems\, how these impact currently widely used technologies and innovations (such as ChatGPT or Image recognition)\, what is required to build truly inclusive ML systems and ideate on how we can use the power of ML/AI to help foster true inclusivity. \nMachine learning (ML) or Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems influence our lives in many ways – from what we consume\, watch\, listen to\, how content is generated or how businesses make their decisions from healthcare and education to finance. Given their widespread impact it is critical that those technologies consider inclusivity and fairness. Disregarding these factors can have a severe negative impact on everyday lives. Soraya is Chief Data Scientist and Cofounder of Carra\, a digital platform for personalised textured (curly) hair care where she focuses on creating the data engine to power innovation in the textured hair ecosystem. She is passionate about building data products that improve customer experience and has previously led the fashion recommendation team at ASOS.com and worked on optimizing search ranking at Booking.com.
