Selina will share her experiences working in the field of ICT, holding down a ‘non-tech’ consultancy role, and offer her outlook on the future opportunities and skills required to succeed in this industry.
Kim Fuqua

Kim is very passionate about building and maintaining a culture of diversity and inclusion. During her 25-year Microsoft career she has been deeply involved in diversity and inclusion programs and has served on the leadership team of Blacks at Microsoft (BAM), Microsoft’s oldest Employee Resource Group (ERG) for multiple years. She drove partnerships with other ERGs, such as Women at Microsoft, Military at Microsoft, and Culture & Ethnicity for Microsoft Netherlands, to develop mentorship and coaching programs aimed at preparing a diverse group of aspiring leaders to meet Microsoft’s organizational needs.
Kim began her career at Microsoft in 1997 as a Services Sales Professional. She has since held numerous roles, including Services Transformation Lead for the Americas Region, Licensing Executive for US State and Local Government, and Sales & Delivery Enablement Lead for Enterprise Support Teams.
Kim has lived in the Netherlands since 2019, but she is originally from Chicago, Illinois, USA and spent most of her adult years in North Carolina, USA. She is a motivational speaker that is building a portfolio of speaking and hosting engagements to encourage young professionals to think creatively about how to achieve their professional ambition. Travel is one of her major hobbies and she has visited 21 countries on 4 continents. She is a fitness enthusiast and has completed 10 half-marathons and 2 full marathons. She has two children: her son, Allen that passed away in 2016 at the age of 14, and her 25-year-old, Rae, who is building their career in the technology industry, while also studying to achieve their Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and currently resides in Denver, CO, USA.

Zij ziet het belang van technologische ontwikkelingen in de ICT-sector, omdat deze een buitengewone impact hebben in alle sectoren van DE economie en maatschappij. Internet-of-things, Artificial intelligence, Big Data en Carbon Footprint, zijn daarvan voorbeelden.
Binnen Conclusion is zij lid van de werkgroep diversiteit & inclusie. Zij gelooft dat diversiteit en inclusie van vrouwen in de ICT, anno 2023 geen gegeven, maar een must moet zijn. Het brengt creativiteit met zich mee en slaat een brug tussen digitale kansen en maatschappelijke uitdagingen. Haar rolmodel is haar moeder, die in Nederland als eerste zwarte docente lesgaf in het middelbaar techniekonderwijs. In een mannenbolwerk doorbrak haar moeder beschaafd en daadkrachtig oude conventies. Dit statement zou zij graag als zwarte vrouw binnen de ICT willen voorzetten.
Vivianne Bendermacher
Oprichter van Techionista
Al op haar 26e werd Bendermacher hoofdredacteur van het wetenschapsmerk KIJK. Op dat moment was ze de jongste hoofdredacteur van Nederland. Op haar 33e besloot Vivianne het helemaal anders te doen en de lat hoger te leggen. Zij zegde haar baan als hoofdredacteur van vrouwenmerk VIVA op en besloot zich volledig toe te leggen op haar bedrijf Techionista. Bendermacher hoopt technologie in Nederland een vrouwelijker gezicht te geven. Nog altijd wordt de wereld van technologie en digitale innovatie gedomineerd door mannen. Zonde, zeker omdat vrouwen volgens het World Economic Forum (meer dan mannen) door opkomende technologie zoals robotisering en automatisering hun baan zullen verliezen de komende jaren. Juist zij zouden baat hebben wij een carrièreswitch richting IT en technologie. Ook fijn voor bedrijven: zij krijgen hun openstaande IT-vacatures tenslotte nu al bijna niet meer ingevuld. Als Techionista hoopt ze enerzijds vrouwen enthousiast te krijgen voor technologie en aan de andere kant een vrouwelijke nuance te bieden wanneer het om tech gaat. Buiten haar eigen kanalen, zoals Techionista.com, doet ze dat via optredens voor landelijke radio en tv, door dagvoorzitter te zijn op events en op te treden als spreker.
